Like many stories ours has a romantic but becoming all too typical start. We met back in 2011 and it was love at first sight. Neither of us was looking for each other but God had another plan for us.
I had recently graduated college and was in the process of flipping a house, running my own design business and enjoying being just me and my dog. Jason was recently separated and had a beautiful 2 year old son. We were at completely different places in our lives yet we ended up in the same room at the same time and the rest became history.
I packed up my life and moved south, we moved slow and gave ourselves time to understand each other, how we tick and what our passions and desires in life were. We both grew immensely in this time.
One summer on our annual trip home, he proposed to me on the beach, the place I have always found solitude. We then planned a beautiful wedding for the following year.
All along we knew that kids were a priority to us both and we started trying for a baby in 2015. After three years of hoping chance would make it happen we started to pay more attention for a year. Then we saw a specialist for a year and both underwent treatments to greaten our chances. One year later, still nothing. We had many conversations over the years about what we wanted, adoption was always discussed and now it is becoming our reality. We are so excited about this journey and want to share it with you all!
If you want to hear more about any of our journey up to this point, which I didn’t cover in detail I would be happy to share it with you. In fact, maybe in some of the lulls that this process provides I may add these snippets of our life to the blog.
